Day 1 Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

After your breakfast, we drive through the famous Luwero Triangle. You visit and track white rhinos at Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhinos, and restore rhino populations in Uganda’s’ protected areas in a later stage. Dinner and overnight will at your lodge of booking.

Day 2 Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast head to the delta in search for bird life and enjoy the game drive to look for lions, giraffes, herds of elephants, buffaloes and many more. We will then go for an afternoon boat cruise to Murchison falls. This boat trip along the Nile is often cited as being the height of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up close and personal with the animals.

Along this stretch of the river, there are reported to be around 4000 hippos in the addition to some enormous Nile crocodiles. The bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebills, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness. Finally you will be stopping at the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, thelongest river in the world is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43meters. Day 3 Kibale Forest National Park

You will after your breakfast visit the “top of the thunderous Murchison falls”, where you will observe the River Nile squeezing itself in a 7 meter gorge before tumbling 40 meters down in a thunderous explosion and then flows down into a very peaceful river whose water banks are swarmed with a profusion of water and land animals as well as birds. You will thereafter set off on a 9 hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park.

The drive is through verdant countryside, interpassing traditional homesteads and farms and traveling via the towns of Hoima and Fort Portal which rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon.

Day 4 Kibale Forest National Park

Half day search of chimpanzee and 10 other primates including phoestes, red colobus, blues and red tailed and grey cheeked Mangabey.

The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters.

Day 5 Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast and then drive to queen Elizabeth. The game seen will depend on the season: the kasenyi plains are good for loin and mweya peninsula for a variety of animals. Shift to Queen Elizabeth National park this morning (about 3 hours driving) leaving through fort portal town.

You turn south and early this afternoon enter queen Elizabeth national park, which is dominated on its northern border by the snow-capped 16000-foot Rwenzori mountains-the famed “mountains of the moon”. This 767-square-mile conservation area is bordered on the north east by Lake George and on the southwest by Lake Edward: its western border adjoins the Zaire parc du virunga. You will expect to see teeming herds of impala-like Uganda kob as well as topi, elephant and loin, giant forest hog, Capebuffalo.

There are also several lakes filling ancient volcanic calderas where flamingos reside seasonally.in the afternoon enjoy a game drive in the northern part of the park, visiting the baboon cliff famous for its nice scenery and good views of the shadows of the mountains of the moon-the Rwenzori.

Day 6 Queen Elizabeth National Park

We set out early in the morning for a game drive in the northern part of the park on the kasenyi, track in search of loins, elephants, and solitary buffaloes.

This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda kobs. We have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at very close range. Return to the lodge for your breakfast, before heading out for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel.

This gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippos’ huff and spray at a mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others.

Day 7 Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast we drive through south through sunning savannah grasslands as we head to the southern sector of the park – Ishasha, a remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park that is host to a large variety wildlife. This is a fabulous area in which to see the lions draped from the trees and nowhere in Africa do you stand a better chance of seeing this in the large low limbed fig tree of ishasha.

We will visit the Uganda kob mating ground which is a defined area specifically used by kobs for challenging, enticing and mating adult rams defend a circle territory (30 meters diameter)and depending on the season the mating ground can have 20 and more of these small.
You will after transfer to Bwindi for Dinner and overnight will at your lodge of booking.

Day 8 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today enjoy gorilla tracking in Bwindi. After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before the highlighting of the trip. Gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We track the gorillas through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla famila.

The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. When the gorillas are sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 meters from the gorillas, sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes.

Gorilla trekking is unpredictable. It’s difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike .the gorilla excursion can take from 2 up 8 hours. Expect to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. A good physical condition is recommended. For conservation purposes, time spent with gorillas is limited to one hour. A ranger will brief you on how to behave with the gorillas.

Day 9 Lake Mburo National Park

You will have an early breakfast and travel to Lake Mburo National Park centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes rich in bird life while its green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like the Zebra, warthog, Elands, Impala among others.

You will have lunch in Mbarara town and continue the drive to the park. In the afternoon you will go for a 2 hour boat ride on Lake Mburo and get quite close to the water animals that include crocodiles and hippos.

Day 10 Kampala

You will after breakfast go for a tour of the park on foot with an experienced game ranger who will explain to you which animals have left behind footprints and droppings and how long ago. Mburo is one of the two parks in Uganda where it is permitted to go for tour on foot. You will after the game walk return to the lodge for lunch and later set off on your return journey to Kampala.

You will have a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. You will have another stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers centre where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using traditional methods passed down through the generations.
