10 Days Uganda Tour
Day 1 Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
After your breakfast, we drive through the famous Luwero Triangle. You visit and track white rhinos at Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhinos, and restore rhino populations in Uganda’s’ protected areas in a later stage. Dinner and overnight will at your lodge of booking.
Day 2 Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast head to the delta in search for bird life and enjoy the game drive to look for lions, giraffes, herds of elephants, buffaloes and many more. We will then go for an afternoon boat cruise to Murchison falls. This boat trip along the Nile is often cited as being the height of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up close and personal with the animals.
Along this stretch of the river, there are reported to be around 4000 hippos in the addition to some enormous Nile crocodiles. The bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebills, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness. Finally you will be stopping at the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, thelongest river in the world is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43meters. Dinner and overnight will at your lodge of booking.
Day 3 Kibale Forest National Park
You will after your breakfast visit the “top of the thunderous Murchison falls”, where you will observe the River Nile squeezing itself in a 7 meter gorge before tumbling 40 meters down in a thunderous explosion and then flows down into a very peaceful river whose water banks are swarmed with a profusion of water and land animals as well as birds. You will thereafter set off on a 9 hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park.
The drive is through verdant countryside, interpassing traditional homesteads and farms and traveling via the towns of Hoima and Fort Portal which rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon.
You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge of your booking.
